Science

Science is mandatory for all students from Year 7 to Year 10.

Science 7-10 provides a way of inquiring about the world around us. It explores evidence and investigates ways to discover, develop and produce solutions to real-world problems. Science emphasises the skills for working scientifically, as well as critical and creative thinking to address scientific issues.

Here at Lake Munmorah High School, our Science Faculty is always striving to find new and exciting ways to educate and engage our students. Even though Science is a mandatory subject in years 7-10, it doesn't mean that we can't make it fun!

STEM (Science, technology, engineering and maths) is the pathway of the future, and here in the Science Faculty, we hope to encourage all students towards this path.

Our varied curriculum includes opportunities such as excursions, science celebration nights, week long activities surrounding science week, practical opportunities in the laboratory, exciting demonstrations (often explosive!), and the chance to experience new technologies such as droids and drones. For more information on some of these past activities, please click on the ‘celebrations' tab.
